Meet the real-life stars

Every character in my stories has a real-life equivalent right here at Barney's Chook Barn. From the most mischievous little clucker to the most reserved hen, the "girls" spend their days wandering the barn and garden, seeking inspiration for their next grand adventure.

Sunshine: The Adventurer and Star of Book One. Always the first to lead the way into a new discovery, Sunshine’s curiosity is what started all our stories at the Lodge.

Fog-horn: The undisputed Boss. As head of the flock, Fog-horn keeps everyone in line with a stern look. She’s a proud, independent leader who prefers to watch over the barn with a dignified distance.

Marnie: The Social Butterfly (with a bit of a moan!). Marnie is second-in-command and very friendly, though she’s famous for her vocal protests whenever I dare to leave the barn!

Amber: The Sweetheart. Though she’s at the bottom of the pecking order, Amber is the friendliest of the bunch. She’s a gentle soul who’s currently training to be the first hen to jump into my hand!
